As a means of informing this particular piece of research, the author has chosen to focus a level of analysis upon the death of Junior Seau; a renowned NFL player whose suicide has long been suspected to be the result of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encepalopathy). With the death by suicide of a well known footballer, Junior Seau, the attention of the news media and society has shifted towards the role that head injuries sustained in sport have towards the mental health and quality of life that players can expect to experience.
